Problems with connecting a bike or heart rate sensor

Having trouble connecting your bike, cadence sensor, or heart rate monitor? Go through the checks below.

Your device does not appear in the list

  • Check that Bluetooth is enabled on your phone or tablet.
  • Make sure your bike or sensor is turned on and has enough battery.
  • Activate the sensor. For example, move the pedals for a cadence sensor or put on your heart rate strap.
  • Keep your device close to your phone or tablet while searching.
  • Close the Connections screen and open it again to search again.

Your sensor is connected to another device

Many sensors can only be connected to one device or app at a time. Therefore, close other cycling apps, fitness devices, or phones that may be connecting to your bike or sensor. Then open Connections again in the CycleMasters app and try pairing again.

The connection drops during the workout

Check that your bike or sensor has enough battery and stays within range of your phone or tablet. Then try connecting again via the Bluetooth icon during the workout.

If the problem persists, briefly turn Bluetooth off and then back on on your phone or tablet. Next, restart the CycleMasters app and pair your device again.

You see no data while connected

The data you see depends on what your connected device measures and sends:

  • A standalone cadence sensor only sends cadence (RPM).
  • Not every bike sends speed, distance, cadence, and wattage.
  • Heart rate is only displayed with a connected heart rate monitor or Apple Watch.
  • Wattage and wattage zones only appear when your bike sends wattage.

Also check whether the relevant section is enabled in your workout interface. During the workout, you can use the gear icon to decide which data you want to display.

Having trouble?

First, try pairing your bike or sensor again via Connections. If this doesn’t work, contact CycleMasters customer service and mention which device you are trying to connect.
